Mayfield Trace is an upscale planned community built by award-winning Northern Virginia builder Pulte Homes. Built between the years of 2005-2009, Mayfield Trace is located conveniently off Dumfries Road (234) near Godwin Drive. Additionally, Mayfield Trace is only ten minutes away from I-66. Retails therapy, in the form of the new Hastings Marketplace is only 5 minutes away and grocery stores, and the Manassas Mall are also in the vicinity.
Mayfield Trace has something other subdivisions lack, specifically, historical interest. The last black schoolhouse in Prince William County is located within the outskirts of the subdivision. Situated along the main road, the schoolhouse is located on the small plot of a former slave. Surrounding the plot is a lovely marsh and wetlands conservation area that features a wooden boardwalk for Mayfield Trace residents to walk along.

Within the community are 210 semi-custom, single family homes ranging in size from 2,000 to 5,500 sqft. Lots are approximately 1/4 acre in size, some which are wooded with cherry trees, hardwoods and evergreens. In addition, to the wooded lots, Mayfield Trace features 2 tot lots and a multi-purpose court.
